According to information provided to ICTnews by the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to USA, Ph. Ferviyer gave a high assessment to the development of the ICT sector in Azerbaijan and expressed his gratitude to the Government of Azerbaijan for the assistance in the organization of the 7th Global Internet Administration Forum in Baku. Ph. Ferviyer noted that the forum will lay the foundation for strengthening US-Azerbaijan relations in the ICT sphere.
“The conference on the 7th Global Internet Administration Forum would be jointly organized by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies and the American Chamber of Commerce. Representatives from business circles of both countries will take an active part in work of the conference”, he added.
In her turn, N.Gurbanova informed the briefing about achievements attained in Azerbaijan as a result of the successful policy conducted by the Azerbaijani Government. She said that the projects jointly implemented by US and Azerbaijani companies in the ICT sector played a significant role in the development of this sphere in Azerbaijan.
“Today, Azerbaijan is taking part in international ICT projects as well. These projects will help to remove the digital gap between the developed and the developing countries. They will also create conditions, which are necessary for the sustainable development of countries in the region.” N.Gurbanova added. The participants of the briefing were also provided with thorough information covering all aspects of the organization of the 7th Global Internet Administration Forum.
Briefing in Washington discusses preparations for Internet Administration Forum
As we know, the 7th Global Internet Administration Forum will be held in Baku on November 5-9, 2012. In this connection, a briefing was held in the Carnegie Foundation in Washington which highlighted preparations for this forum. US State Department’s coordinating ambassador Philipp Ferviyer and the adviser of Azerbaijan’s Embassy to USA Nargiz Gurbanova made statements at the briefing.According to information provided to ICTnews by the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to USA, Ph.
