Let me welcome You on behalf of the Executive Committee of the Regional Commonwealth in the field of communications (RCC) at the 18th International Telecommunications and Information Technologies Exhibition and Conference "BakuTel-2012" .
The level of development of information-communications technologies in the modern society influences on the integration processes and intensification of mutual relations at the inter-governmental level.
The main strategic tasks of the RCC in connection with this are as follows: increase of mutually beneficial relations among their participants, creation of regional mechanisms of mutual relation in the scientific, technological and innovation fields, issuance of coordinated scientific-technical policy in the field of communications and information technologies, harmonization of the development of info-communications networks.
The special importance is coordinated actions, active mutual relation for strengthening of innovation growth, as well as mutually beneficial support of the national interests of member countries of the RCC and the Commonwealth generally.
This year plays special role for the communications workers of our country. Heads of the CIS countries determined cooperation in the field of communications and informatization as a key factor for the development of economies of the CIS countries.
Annual international exhibition "BakuTel" is one of the important measures of this significant year. Traditionally, the exhibition "BakuTel" demonstrates dynamic development of ICT in the Republic of Azerbaijan which is implemented mostly due to the support of the management of country who defined this sector of economy as one of the priority.
In accordance with development indicators of ICT, the Republic is located between the developed and developing countries and is included into ten most rapidly developing countries.
We’d also like to note that one of the important measures during the period of holding the "BakuTel-2012" will be "Internet Governance Forum" (IGF).
The Internet Governance Forum is a new model for international discussion of problems of Internet management.We hope sincerely that real results of discussions of the Forum will get its development in the further activity of all participants of the Internet Governance Forum.
I hope that decisions of the joint-session of the 47th Session of the Board of the Communications Administrations Heads of the Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communications (RCC), the High Level Ministerial Meeting ‘Addressing the Challenges of a Hyperconnected World’, will be sounded with achievements of "BakuTel-2012" exhibition and enable further development of ICT and building of information society in our countries, formulation of the single information space.
