According to Babayev, at present within the PICTURE (Policy dialogue in ICT to an Upper level for Reinforced EU-EECA Cooperation) project, three working groups have been established in ICT field. The first working group was created for political dialogue on ICT, the second - on new materials, and the third - on digital content.
Three experts of Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences, who are involved in the discussion of the problems on improving co-operation between Europe and Azerbaijan in the field of ICT, will participate in the working groups. "During the meeting on PICTURE project held in Moscow on November 28-30 2011 priority directions of research in the ICT field were discussed for the next five years.
The issue was discussed by representatives of 14 Eastern Europe and Central Asia countries. The decision was made on the implementation of joint projects in the coming year within the PICTURE project. The next meeting will be held in Kiev in May-June 2013, "Babayev said.
RITA is taking part in the IncoNet EECA project (Network for the international scientific and technical cooperation with the countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia), which is also implemented in the framework of the Seventh Framework Programme of the European Union (EU) on 'Information and communication technologies' (ICT FP7 ). IncoNet EECA project aims to develop cooperation between the EU and the CIS.
