According to ICTnews.az, these words were written in the 2012 year’s final press release spread by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The ministry says that in 2012, just as it was in the previous years, Azerbaijan’s foreign policy was rigidly following its course, which remained unchangeable and was aimed at achieving state’s priority objectives.
These objectives include restoration of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity, elimination of all existing threats to the security of the country, establishing and developing equal and mutually beneficial relations with all countries of the world, strengthening Azerbaijan’s position in the international arena, fighting against global threats and risks, strengthening security and stability in the region, developing the national economy, realization of energy and transportation projects, promoting democracy, insuring law-abiding, developing cultural and humanitarian ties with foreign countries.
The press-release also says that in 2012 Azerbaijan took an active part in various activities carried out by different offices and special divisions of the UN. During this period the General Assembly of the UN adopted a number of resolutions on Azerbaijan’s initiative, including the resolution on the implementation of "The National Eurasia Super Information Highway" project.
During 2012 Azerbaijan actively participated in numerous international activities aimed at insuring global and regional security. Over the previous year Azerbaijan continued to take an active part in the international combat against international terrorism and cyber terror. In addition to that, within the framework of the UN Development Program Azerbaijan provided financial support for the creation of the e-Government in Afghanistan.
Role of ICT in Azerbaijan’s foreign policy
