Over last 5 years, user base in Azerbaijan’s mobile sector increased 1.5 times
Over the last 5 years, revenues in Azerbaijan’s mobile sector have increased 1.3 times, and the user base - 1.5 times. In 2012, revenues for the mobile sector as compared to the previous year, increased with comparative prices of 14.1% and amounted to $1095.7. Relative density of mobile communications in the country’s ICT sector makes up 60% and is developing dynamically.
There are 3 mobile operators in the mobile sector in Azerbaijan. Mobile communication services completely cover the country and it is the first 100% result in the region.
At present, the number of mobile subscribers per 100 inhabitants is 110 units, which is approximately 15% more than world average figure.
Revenues from mobile communications sector account for 65.3% of the telecommunications sector. The activities carried out for the tariff policy in mobile sector in an atmosphere of healthy competition and customer satisfaction, contribute to the reduction of prices for mobile services year after year. So, if in 2004 the average annual revenue for one subscriber was $145.8, in 2012 this figure reached $108.0.
At the same time, the analyses show that the average monthly revenue per subscriber, compared to 2011 increased by 12.8%, while the cost of 1 minute mobile communications has decreased by 22.2%.
