“This is an important development,” Sanjaya Karunasena, Chief Technology Officer, ICTA told FutureGov. “Police clearance certificates are critical documents that are required when applying for a job or a visa, for example.
By making this information handy to people through their mobile phones, we are able to provide citizen services via mobile communications technologies.”
SMS tracking for police clearance certificates in Sri Lanka
The Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA) in collaboration with the country’s police department recently launched an SMS-based tracking service for police clearance certificates.
