The Information Technology Institute under the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) examines experience and problems with small satellite program, the institute said.
The issue is considered within the UN third symposium, the Austrian government and the European Space Agency to implement programs of small satellites for sustainable development.
It takes place in Austria from September 13-16. Azerbaijan is represented by director of the Information Technology Institute under ANAS Rasim Aliguliyev.
Azerspace's manufacturer is Orbital Sciences Corporation. An orbital position of 46 degrees east longitude has been leased from Malaysian satellite operator MEASAT. French Arianspace will send the satellite into orbit.
