The conference started with an opening speech delivered by Regional Director of IDC in Central Asia, Azerbaijan and Mongolia Andrew Beklemishev. He said that in the current economic situation, issues related to IT security are of particular importance in terms of the impact they have on business activities.
"Organizations are getting more concerned with the increased use of cloud technologies, mobile devices and social networks because they are the most vulnerable points of illegal access to company data. Today, therefore, it is necessary not only to invest in security solutions, but also to focus on people and processes, employees and business partners," he said.
In turn, Deputy Minister of Communications and High Technologies Elmir Velizadeh wished conference participants fruitful work in his welcoming speech. According to him, the issue of information security comes to the fore against the background of the dynamic development of the ICT sector.
"That is why our government attaches special importance to this issue," he noted. In his speech, Deputy Minister also stressed the importance of close cooperation with structures such as IDC for determining a development strategy according to global trends.
The conference, which has been held for the 5th year, has aroused interest among information security specialists employed both in public and private sectors because it has helped them to gain information on best practices, analytical calculations and new solutions in this area.
During the conference, the partners of the event presented their solutions for the public and private sectors of Azerbaijan. The foreign experts shared their experiences in this area and showed examples of the application of the new solutions in organisations.
