The National Certification Services Center represented Azerbaijan at a conference held in St. Petersburg

The International Conference on Public Key Infrastructure and Digital Signature Issues “PKI-Forum Russia 2015”, organized by the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation in St. Petersburg, has ended.
 
The main topics of the conference included “Reliance on Public Key Infrastructure and PKI-based solutions”, “Actual issues of application of perspective technologies in PKI”, “Standardization and electronic signature in PKI”, “Certification services centers’ activities”, “Unrestricted application of electronic signature in operating systems”, “PKI in block chain technologies”, etc.
 
The conference was attended by more than 300 representatives from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Poland, the Russian Federation, Uzbekistan and other countries.
 
Azerbaijan was represented at the event by a delegation consisting of the employees of the Data Processing Centre of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies.
 
Head of the National Certification Services Center Arif Mailov informed the conference about the activities of the National Certification Services Center, which acts as a Root Certification Center in our country.
 
It was noted that the functions of the Center include issuing National Certificates to all the National System’s centers and subordinate centers.
 
The responsibilities of the Root Centre include the formation of a self-signed certificate, registration of second-level centers (in the first place the Government Agencies Centre, Electronic Government Center and the Mobile-ID Center) and formation of these centers’ certificates based on the results of checking the electronic signature, compiling and publishing a list of recalled certificates of second level centers.
