On this occasion an event dedicated to the outcomes of Internship Program was held at Azerfon Head Office, where the advantages of the internship program were stressed.
Having congratulated 8 students who went through the Internship Program, Azerfon representatives announced the 4 best performers of the program who got full time employment in the company. Speaking at the event, the CEO of the Company Mr. Jurgen Peetz stressed the importance of supporting youth development by providing career opportunities.
“We support the talented youth by providing them with career opportunities, and this is one of the priorities of Azerfon’s corporate social responsibility policy.
Our company is interested in building local ICT professionals and that is why we are offering students this opportunity for hands-on experience”. The interns were awarded with certificated and valuable gifts by Azerfon.
Azerfon Summer Internship Program 2011 had started in June 2011. Such educational institutions as Baku State University, Azerbaijan State Oil Academy, Azerbaijan Technical University, Azerbaijan State Economic University, Qafqaz University, Baku Branch of the Moscow State University participated in the program that was also supported by the US-Azerbaijan Alumni Association.
This program gives an opportunity for students to apply their knowledge obtained at their university, learn more about their professions and get a job in Azerfon as they successfully complete the program. 4 students who showed best performance during the Internship Program were offered full-time jobs in relevant departments.
Thus, the students signed employment agreements with Azerfon LLC to perform at following positions: IT Quality Control Specialist; IT Performance Monitoring Specialist and Network Channel Commutation System Engineer. Starting from September 22, they have started first professional career in their lives.
