Baku hosts next IFAC conference

The 18th International Scientific Conference on Technology, Culture and International Stability (TECIS 2018) was held in Baku on September 13 with the support of the International Conference of the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC).
 
The conference, held with the joint organizational support of the Public Association Azerbaijan Robotics and Automation Society (ARAS) and the Technological University of Vienna (Austria), was attended by state and government officials, representatives of scientific and educational institutions, diplomatic corps accredited in our country, local and foreign scientists, researchers.
 
Chairman of the Azerbaijan Robotics and Automation Society and the organizing committee of the conference, Ph.D. in technology Bahadur Ibrahimov spoke about the history of the establishment and activities of IFAC. It was noted that the Federation was founded on September 12, 1957 in Paris. By invitation of the Austrian Government, the Secretariat of IFAC has been operating in Laxenburg city of Austria since 1978. IFAC, which includes the organizations on automatic control and engineering from 49 countries, organizes dozens of international events each year. Currently, IFAC is the most influential organization in the world in the field of automation and control mechanisms, which in general make up such an industry as robotics.
 
Bahadur Ibrahimov also said that the event celebrates its 35th anniversary of the TECIS technical committee. It is noteworthy that the IFAC meeting was held for the first and last time in Baku in April 1980 with the support of the national leader Heydar Aliyev. 170 papers selected by international reviewers will be presented at 9 plenary sessions of this authoritative conference, which takes place in Baku after a 38-year break.
 
Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Ramin Guluzade stressed in his speech that the organization of such an authoritative conference in our country opens up great opportunities for local scientists: "I am sure that the event will promote the interest of Azerbaijani scientists in the field of automation and robotics, create conditions for discussing the results of research with world-renowned scientists and establish contacts with prominent representatives of the scientific community."
 
IFAC President, Vice-President of the German Science Foundation, Professor of the University of Stuttgart Frank Algever and other speakers expressed confidence that the conference will contribute to the world science.
 
During sessions topics such as "Automation in Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises", "Mechatronic Systems and Robots", "Biomedical Systems", "Automation and Control Mechanisms", "Humanoid Robots", etc. will be heard and reports of scientists about their new scientific achievements will be discussed.
