Innovation Week to be held for the first time in Azerbaijan

The International Innovation Week will be held in Azerbaijan for the first time on October 26-30. Within the  joint project, implemented by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies and Heydar Aliyev Center, visitors will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the latest innovations in the field of high technologies and innovation, to participate in conferences, forums and competitions, to visit the exhibition to be organized, as well as to communicate with Sophia, which is considered to be the world’s most intelligent robot.
 
Media representatives were informed about the events to be held within the Innovation Week at the press conference held  today at  Heydar Aliyev Center, and the journalists' questions were answered.
 
A representative of  Heydar Aliyev Center Orkhan Habibov said that during the period of its activity, along with other areas, the Center carried out a number of projects in the field of information technologies. From this point of view, Heydar Aliyev Center is among the partners of the International Innovation Week, which will be held for the first time in our country. It was noted that within the project, jointly  implemented by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, young people will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves  with the latest innovations in the field of high technologies and innovation, to participate in conferences, forums and competitions, to visit the exhibition to be organized.
 
Head of Information Society and Innovative Development of Electronic Governance of the  Ministry of Transport, Communication and High Technologies Rashad Azizov informed that  a series of events will be organized within the Innovation Week with the support of the United Nations Development Programme, Azerbaijan Cyber Sport Federation, Keepface, Microsoft Corporation and others.
 
He also noted that during  the Innovation Week  issues related to the development of the investment environment will be discussed in the round table organized by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies and Microsoft Corporation,  and the Baku Open Cyber Cup tournament will be held together with the Azerbaijani Cyber Sport Federation.
 
It was noted that within the framework of the Innovation Week, the High Tech Park will organize an idea competition (Hackathon), which offers ways of solution to the  issues of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, as well as a number of government agencies in real time. Here, the participants must  propose ways to provide a flexible and innovative solution to the problem. The winning ideas will be implemented and be awarded as well", said Rashad Azizov.
According to him,  in the Innovation Week,  a grand final will  also be held where winners of the startup tours of the project  "From Idea to Business"  will compete.
 
Besides, a memorandum on attracting foreign investments for local startups will also be signed between the High Tech Park and the AstroLabs acceleration center. In general, the list of events can be expanded this week. Taking this opportunity, we invite  government agencies, stakeholders to hold events within the Innovation Week, "the head of  department added.
 
 
World's first intelligent robot will wear  national costume of Azerbaijan
 
 
One of the most interesting events of the Innovation Week will be the Global Influencer Day. Emin Veli, the head of Keepface platform, provided detailed information about this event.
 
He first mentioned the meaning of the word  "influencer"  saying a group of people and individuals who collect broad audiences, direct them and have power of persuasion by creating a content are called influencers.
 
According to Emin Veli, along with interesting, useful content  they share, they engage in social media and other digital platforms to share experiences about any product or service with followers  and promote sales.
 
The Global Influencer Day, to be held at Heydar Aliyev Center on October 26, will be remembered for interesting speeches, presentations and workshops. Within the framework of the event an example of the most successful artificial intelligence, the first robot  citizen Sophia will arrive in Azerbaijan.
 
By the way, I would like to mention that the organizers of the event Global Influencer Day are  "Keepface DMCC" and "FA International Trade Events".
 
The global event is supported by the Ministry of Transport, Communications  and High Technologies, Heydar Aliyev Center, Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan,  ADA University, American Chamber of Commerce in Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijan Congress Bureau, and the CAMCA Network.

Head of FA International Trade Events Nail Babayev spoke about the world’s  first humanoid robot Sophia, the most interesting guest of the event, as one of the organizers of the Global Influencer Day. He informed that Sophia has already visited 40 countries.
 
"The intelligent robot has the ability to express 60 specific elements (laugh, fall asleep, sadden, be happy, be afraid, be surprised, etc.).
 
Speaking fluently in English and Russian, the robot can answer questions  logically.
The robot has its own own personal credit card as well.Within the framework of its visit to our country,  you will be able to see  Sophia in the national costume  on the stage of  Heydar Aliyev Center. "
 
As noted, over 1 million spectators from different countries will participate in the Global Influencer Day .These people have over 30 million followers on social networks.
 
Taking this opportunity, we will organize a content tour  for "influencers" to visit sightseeing of Baku and allow them to see our national cuisine in places they visit.It will enable us to share information about Azerbaijan at a global scale during the Innovation Week.
 
 
"Baku Open Cyber Cup" computer games will be organized on combat and soccer sport
 
 
Speaking about the Baku Open Cyber Cup tournament, head of the Azerbaijani Cyber Sport Federation Ramil Aliyev  said the goal of the Baku Open Cyber Cup tournament is to promote the development of cyber sport in our country and  increase the interest of young people to modern information and communication technologies and computer technology. He said that within the framework of the Baku Open Cyber Cup, computer combat and soccer games will also be organized.
It will be possible to register beforehand to participate in games, which will be managed by professional referees. The winners of the tournament will be awarded by the Organizing Committee," said Ramil Aliyev.
