This statement was made by Director General of the Executive Committee of the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications (RCC) Nurudin Mukhitdinov during his interview with AZERTAG.
According to him, the delegation of Azerbaijan is represented this year at the Plenipotentiary Conference of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in Dubai at the most highest level.
“Minister Ramin Guluzade and his deputy Elmir Velizadeh are here. And
the Azerbaijani delegation is working very actively, promoting the new ideas and proposals that will be approved within the framework of our entire Regional Commonwealth. We hope that they will be adopted by the Plenipotentiary Conference and that this will ultimately contribute to a more efficient construction of the information society. The new ideas will enable people who live in our countries to better use information technologies that provide more comfortable living conditions in our countries,” he noted.
Nurudin Mukhitdinov also said that “within the conference, the election of members of the Council of the International Telecommunication Union will be held.”
“This is a very important elected position and a very limited number of countries are members of this Council. Azerbaijan deserves to be elected because there are indicators that ensure the development of information technologies in Azerbaijan and these merits were accepted by the Commonwealth and the countries gave their votes,” Head of the RCC added.
He noted that “this time the Communications Administration of Azerbaijan, which is representing the country as a whole at the Plenipotentiary Conference of the ITU, is again a candidate for election to the ITU Council” and that “a ministry representative, Sahiba Hasanova, is a candidate for the post of the Radio Regulations Board.”
“The Radio Regulations Board is also a structure with a very limited number of people who ensure the operation of the Board in the International Telecommunication Union and between assemblies and world radio conferences. This is a very responsible and important milestone, which, I think, the Azerbaijani administration will be able to cross and to win this competitive, open and democratic struggle for the two places from our region. There are many more candidates, four of them. I would like to wish her victory and further work in the International Telecommunication Union and the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications as a member of the Radio Regulations Board,” Nurudin Mukhitdinov said.
