Azerbaijan and Hungary have defined the main directions of cooperation in ICT sphere. The sides' future cooperation in communication services, outsourcing services, data transmission, system integration, hardware and software developments are consolidated in a protocol signed on Friday following the second meeting of the Azerbaijani-Hungarian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation.
A decision was also taken on possible cooperation on the project of construction of transnational information superhighway (TASIM) and the signing interdepartmental agreement on this issue. Also, at the Azerbaijani side's invitation, representatives of the Hungarian Agency for Investment and Trade and Hungarian companies expressed their willingness to participate at the BakuTel-2011international telecommunications exhibition scheduled for Nov. 23-26.
In April 2011 representatives of the Hungarian company Magyar Telecom Csoportin visited Azerbaijan. The main purpose of the visit was to discuss the issue of privatization of state-owned operators Aztelekom and "Baku Telephone Communications."
