December 6 – professional holiday of communications and information technology workers

In accordance with the relevant Order signed by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, December 6 is celebrated as a professional holiday of workers in the field of communication and information technologies.
 
The development of communication in our country is associated with the name of national leader Heydar Aliyev. The great leader paid special attention and care to this area, carried out large-scale reforms to bring the complex of information and communication technologies to the level of modern requirements. The first foreign investments made in the country’s economy in the field of telecommunications were also the result of the successful strategy of Heydar Aliyev.
 
The policy of esteemed President Ilham Aliyev, a worthy successor of the political course of the great leader, aimed at building a high-tech and competitive economy has turned Azerbaijan into a country where the role of ICT has increased and a modern telecommunications infrastructure has been built.
 
The sphere of information and communication technologies, the most dynamically developing field in the world, is a priority area in our country and the state has always paid special attention to this sphere. Currently, work is underway in the country to develop communications and high technologies.
 
Today, every communications worker works for the development of high technologies in our country. We wish success to everyone who works in this field under the leadership of the head of state.
