Azerbaijani IT company Softprom is to distribute VeriSign products in the country, its country director Oleg Chechnev told on Wednesday.
He said the producer's solutions will be distributed in accordance with a contract between Softprom (the licensed software distributor in the CIS countries) and Symantec, signed in late January.
"Initial supplies within the agreement have already been sent to Georgia," said Chechnev. "We are now planning how to fulfill this agreement within Azerbaijan, as we will work as a distributor and have our own approach. Our partners have already been informed."
Softprom will focus on promoting three main categories of VeriSign solutions. These are the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificates, VeriSign Trust Seal and Code Signing Certificate Services (CSCS).
SSL certificates provide a level of guarantee against malicious codes on a website. Trust Seal informs VeriSign SSL certificate owners of any new suspect codes on a website, while CSCS services are designed to protect program codes distributed across a wide area network.
