The installation of necessary technical equipment of DATA-center, cooling systems, uninterruptible power supplies, software solutions that provide access to the Internet is completed.
The first tests of DATA-center have been completed, and as expected, its resources will be available to employees of research institutes in March.
Resources Center will be used to deploy the Cloud Computing technology and GRID-systems.
Providing of remote access to the dynamic center to end users will be done directly through the computer AzScienceNet scientific network, to which 2030 PC is connected today, and the speed of data transmission in the network reaches 132 Mbit / s.
The possibility of AzScienceNet network integration into the European distributed network provided as part of EGI (European Grid Infrastructure) and into the pan-European research network GEANT3 will be considered after the DATA-center commissioning. The issue of connecting the scientific network of the Institute to the Pan-European research network GEANT3 will be discussed in April.
Connecting to the GEANT3 will strengthen the cooperation of Azerbaijani researchers with researchers in the region and Europe.
Institute of Information Technology serves as a national operator of TERENA (Trans-European Research and Education Networking Association), status of which allows the Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan to participate in projects implemented by the European scientific community, one of which is GEANT3.
Multi-gigabit network GEANT provides high performance and advanced data infrastructure for scientific and educational communities.
