This information was provided to ‘İCTnews’ by head of ‘the Program for ‘Microsoft-Azerbaijan’ Cooperation in Education’, Emin Axundov. According to him, of 400 projects involved in the contest only 25 reached the final. 9 of these 25 projects were from Baku city, the others – from the regions.
The projects from the regions were able to reach the final stage because schools in regions had been provided with internet access. Thus, teachers presented their projects to the board of justices via the internet. Among the projects participating in the final stage two projects took the first place, two projects took the second place, and the other two projects – the third place.
Of the 6 winners 3 are from Baku and 3 – from the regions. Two of the winners of the contest will represent Azerbaijan in the ‘European Innovative Education Forum’ that will be held in Lisbon city of Portugal in March 19-22, 2012.
Let’s note that this activity will be conducted as a part of the ‘Cooperation in Education’ program, which is implemented jointly by the Ministry of Education and the ‘Microsoft-Azerbaijan’ Cooperation in Education Program. Such organizations as ‘Ultra’, ‘Mədəd’, ‘HP’, ‘AzEduNet’ expressed their support for this activity, which is conducted within ‘the State Program for the informatization of the education system of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2008-2012’.
The contest is organized with the aim of finding advanced and progressive teachers in the country by organizing various contests at local and regional levels and creating the environment in which these teachers could share their experiences. Besides that, this contest helps to create a network of the progressive teachers working in the Azerbaijani Education System and improve their ICT skills. The contest that is conducted among school teachers according to the project method consists of the selection and final stages.
Winners of ‘Innovative Teachers Contest’ to be announced soon
The ‘Innovative Teachers Contest’, which was initiated by the ‘Microsoft’ company and is now being conducted in more than 100 countries of the world, has come to the final stage in Azerbaijan.
