According to the ministry the activity also discussed issues related to simplification of visa procedures in BSEC’s members states, strengthening cooperation between employees of the tourism sector, travel companies and tourist organizations of members states, prospects for sustainable development of different directions of tourism, including balneology, protection of environment, organization of seminars and trainings, sharing statistical data, cooperation with other international organizations, improving tourism services, participation in various tourism-related activities held in BSEC’s members states and other issues. The Department of Tourism of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism implemented a number of activities in accordance with the action plan.
Thus, during the first half of 2012 the ministry organized press-tours of representatives of the Italian “Classic Association” company , “Italian Multimedia Group Sri” company, South Korean “Educational Broadcasting System” state TV channel, Russian “Kommersant FM” radio channel and Japanese mass media to Azerbaijan in order to acquaint foreign countries with broad opportunities offered by the tourism sector of the republic. Besides that, the ministry set up tourism information centers at passenger entry-exit points of the Heydar Aliyev International Airport, Baku International Bus Terminal, Baku Railway Station, and Sea Port Terminal.
Single tourism information centre to be created
The Working Group of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) has held its next meeting in the capital of Serbia Belgrade. During the meeting, issues related to creation of a single tourism information centre for BSEC’s members states and establishing a single brand for BSEC region were discussed.
