According to the report of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, 4,405 operations in the total amount of AZN 676,000,000 were carried out with cards in July of this year. 5,051 operations in the total amount of AZN 740,000,000 were carried in May.
The turnover on plastic cards dropped by 9.46% in June. 50,953 operations with plastic cards in the amount of AZN 7,230,000,000 were carried in Azerbaijan in 2011 against 46,504 transactions in the amount of AZN 6,506,000,000 in 2010. Thus, the turnover has grown by 19.4% in 2011.
To compare, in 2009 Azerbaijan saw 45,299 transactions in the amount of AZN 5,457,000,000. As of 1 January 2010, the Azerbaijani banks issued 3,974,000 plastic cards. The turnover on plastic cards in 2008 equaled 4,274,000,000 against only AZN 2,603,000,000 in 2007.
Turnover on plastic cards drops 9.4%
