Nanotechnology allows scientists to cut liquid

Researchers from the Shanghai University have developed a liquid material that can be cut and forced to take different forms such as gelatin. To this liquid was coated with a hydrophobic material thickness of only 20 nanometers.

The material used consists of particles and special silicon is single-layered, i.e. composed of a single molecule in thickness. Thanks to this material remains transparent.

Researchers call it "liquid clay." If it moves via the hydrophobic tool, it retains its shape. At the same time, two drops of material are merged as usual water droplets.
