Microsoft wants to create uniform standards for the Internet of things

Microsoft Corporation in cooperation with international IT leaders such as Qualcomm, Cisco, the Electrolux and others, announced the creation of the organization Open Connectivity Foundation, the aim of which is to create a single set of open protocols for the Internet of things, which should contribute to the development of the industry direction.

Thanks to the unified standards producers will be easier to create new devices with an Internet connection. Companies want to protocols, projects, sensors and solutions to end users and businesses, the relevant OCF standards can smoothly work with each other, regardless of the manufacturer and operating system.
Today, 200 million devices running on Windows 10 comply with the OCF standard. Windows and Azure ensure the operation of various systems of the Internet of things in areas such as manufacturing, retail, healthcare and others. In the near future, Microsoft promises to add to the Windows 10 APIs that integrate with devices that are compatible with the protocols of OCF.
