Kingston has unveiled a pair of new flash drives IronKey IronKey D300 and D300 Managed, who have an advanced level of protection according to certificate FIPS 140-2 Level 3, and also use hardware-based 256-bit AES encryption in XTS mode. After ten incorrect password the firmware blocks access to information on the drive and erase all data. We will remind that in the beginning of this year Kingston purchased the assets of the company Imation, including technology, IronKey, which is the basis of the new drives.
Kingston IronKey D300 has a digital signature that makes the drive immune to malware like BadUSB, and Managed IronKey D300 uses a complex Protocol with a password using the IronKey EMS and support for remote administration. All encryption and decryption is done directly on the drive, leaving nothing on the host system.
In addition to the protection using the software, IronKey and IronKey D300 D300 Managed also physically secure. Their hulls are made of zinc alloy with waterproof standard IPX8, which allows the accessories to survive prolonged immersion in up to 1 meter. All the components inside filled with epoxy sealant for protection against physical hacking attempts.
The drives are available in versions from 4 to 128 GB. Read speed is 250 MB/s and write 40MB/s. the Value of IronKey IronKey D300 and D300 Managed starts from $65 to $338 depending on model and memory.
