World’s First Dual SIM, Dual Mode Phone with GSM & Satellite capabilities launched

A UAE-based telecommunication company Thuraya launched world’s first dual SIM, dual mode phone. The company made satellite phone which works anywhere in the world. And now it comes with a dual mode phone which can host both GSM and satellite networks. With this new dual mode phone, a user can switch between GSM and satellite network instantly. The company is calling the phone XT-PRO DUAL.
 
The phone will be undoubtedly helpful for those who travels a lot between countries and faces roaming and network problem. The phone comes with long lasting battery and company claims it can deliver up to 11 hours of talk time and up to 100 hours of standby time. It has two slots, one for satellite and second for GSM SIM card. For navigation, it has GPS, BeiDou, GLONASS and Galileo built-in.
 
The phone also come with a function called ‘Always On.’ According to the company, one can call on both networks simultaneously on satellite and GSM. The best part is caller can receive the calls on his GSM number even if he is active on Satellite call. The display of the phone comes with glare resistant Gorilla glass display, which is tough enough to handle any harsh condition. The company also claims it can even deliver easy readability in any light condition.
 
The phone comes with dedicated SOS button which can call or send SMS to emergency services times of distress. It’s rugged and reliable too with a water and dust-resistant. So that it can survive anywhere in the world whether you are in desert or sea. The company behind the phone Thuraya specialize in satellite phones and operates two communication satellites.
 
The company also revealed other phones as well previously. It also provides coverage in more than 162 countries in Europe, Middle east, north central and Ease Africa, Asia, and Australia. It has 350 roaming partners worldwide.
