Fujitsu latest Windows tablet comes with world’s first palm vein authentication technology

Fujitsu recently announced the addition of a new tablet to their ARROWS Tab series of Windows tablets. This new 10.1″ ARROWS Tab Q507/P-SP tablet comes with a revolutionary biometric authentication feature called Slide Passport. This is the first tablet in the world to incorporate Fujitsu’s slide-style palm vein authentication functionality.
 
You can unlock your Windows 10 device with the simple action of sliding your hand along the guides displayed on the tablet’s touchscreen. Fujitsu has installed a small slide-style palm vein sensor installed in the tablet’s frame will read and authenticate the pattern of veins in your hand. Another highlight of this device is that it features water resistance (IPX4) and dust resistance (IP5X).
 
This ARROWS Tab will start at 85,300 Yen (approx $780) and it will ship in early August.
