The American holding company Alphabet, which controls Google, occupies the second places in the rating. The company spent 12.9 billion euros on its research and development activities in 2017.
Alphabet is followed by the US corporation Microsoft (12.4 billion euros).
The Korean giant Samsung Electronics ranks the forth in the rating (12.2 billion euros).
Samsung Electronics is followed in the rating by another American company - Intel Corporation (12.1 billion euros).
Apple took the 7th place in the rating, CHIP reports.
