On March 16, an event was held at the High Technologies Park of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan in connection with the national qualifying stage of the “Microsoft Imagine Cup” international technology competition.
“Microsoft Imagine Cup” is a global innovations competition held annually among students across the world.
The main goal of the competition is to identify the potential of young talents, to support the realization of young people’s ideas and to help young people present their ideas on the international ICT arena.
At the event, it was noted that this year some changes were made to the terms of the competition, which is being held for the fourth time in Azerbaijan.
Thus, according to the new rules, one element of the projects participating in the competition should be placed in Microsoft’s Azure Cloud Storage.
Also, two teams (not one, as it was before) will be able to take part in the regional semi-final, which will be held in May.
And the winning team will take part in the international finals to be held in the USA in July, where it will compete for the main prize of the competition (100 thousand dollars).
More than 20 teams have registered for the national tour. Evaluation of the projects will continue till the end of April.
Note that the “Microsoft Imagine Cup” competition is held with the support of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, the Ministry of Education, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the State Copyright Agency, the company Nar Mobile and Pasha Bank.
