Bloomberg has published the rating of the richest people in the world

Silicon Valley mogul Mark Zuckerberg has beaten out Warren Buffett as the world's third richest man, rounding out a tech powerhouse trio for the most wealthiest club.

The Facebook co-founder trails only behind Amazon head Jeff Bezos and Microsoft's Bill Gates. He passed Buffett on Friday when Facebook shares raised 2.4percent, the Bloomberg Billionaires Index reported.

Zuckerberg's addition to the top three makes it the first time that the three wealthiest people got their riches from the tech industry.

The 34-year-old is now worth $81.6billion, compared to the Berkshire Hathaway Inc. chairman, 87, who is worth $81.237billion. Bezos has approximately $141billion while Gates has $93.6billion.

On Friday, Facebook stock closed at $203.23, which was $50 more than it was in March 27, when the social media platform was rocked with privacy scandals.

Of the $5trillion in wealth tracked by the Bloomberg Index, more than 20percent of the fortune are comprised of those belonging in tech.

The ranking is updated after each trading day in New York and consists of 500 of the world's richest people.

Buffett's wealth has taken a hit since the CFO began a huge wave of charitable giving in 2006.

He has donated approximately 290 million Berkshire Hathaway Class B shares to charities, including a sizable portion to Gates's foundation.

Those are worth more than $50billion now, according to Bloomberg.

Zuckerberg, himself, has pledged to give away a staggering 99percent of his Facebook stock over the course of his lifetime.
