Xiaomi has officially unveiled its latest smartphone called Redmi Note 6 Pro in Thailand. The smartphone flaunts a 6.26-inch FHD+ IPS LCD notched display with a 19:9 aspect ratio and an 86 per cent of screen-to-body ratio. The screen is protected by a 2.5D Gorilla Glass. Under the hood, the device is powered by the same Snapdragon 636 chipset, powering the Redmi Note 5 Pro with the Adreno 509 GPU. It packs 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which is expandable via a microSD card slot.
It runs on Android Oreo out-of-the-box with MIUI 9 on top. Furthermore, similar to the Redmi Note 5 Pro, this device too comes with a 4000mAh battery, which is said to deliver up to 6 hours of gaming or 8.5 hours of video playback.
On the imaging front, the smartphone features four AI-based cameras. There is a 12MP+5MP dual rear camera setup, which seems identical to the Redmi Note 5 Pro; however, the new features here are larger pixels (1.4µm vs. 1.25µm), coupled with a brighter f/1.9 aperture and Dual Pixel AF. The device comes with AI dynamic bokeh and AI portrait 2.0. Interestingly, the smartphone also features two AI-based cameras, comprising of a 20MP (with 4-in-1 pixel binning) sensor and a 2MP sensor, for better depth of field.
The device comes in four colour variants — Black, Red, Pink and Blue. The Note 6 Pro comes with a price label of 6,990 baht, which approximately translates to $216 or Rs 15,600.
