Students of Baku State University, Azerbaijan Technical University, State University of Economics, Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction, Baku Engineering University, ADA University, Azerbaijan State University of Oil and Industry participated in the competition.
Each of 15 teams presented their ideas to the jury within 3 minutes. The jury evaluated the projects against criteria of "Idea", "Innovation", "Technology" and "Accessibility".
Following the presentations, the best startup teams among higher education institutions became known. Thus, Baku Engineering University, ADA University and Azerbaijan Technical University took the first, second and third places, respectively.
In general, 8 startups from among universities gained the right to participate in the National Final of startup winners: Adil Gafarly (project Gonex), Ilkin Guluzade (Guide to), Ali Babayev (Just), Rustam Hasanli (Friend), Nargiz Aliyeva (Rescue Bracelet ), Ismail Hasanov (Smart Home), Aykhan Gurbanov (Eagle 2.0) and Aytaj Asgerova (Beacon). It should be noted that the National Final will be held within the framework of the Innovation Week to be organized in Baku for the first time on October 26-30.
It will be recalled that within the framework of the project “From Idea to Business,” which is implemented jointly by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, the Regional Development Public Union of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Azerbaijan Youth Foundation, the United Nations Development Programme, Microsoft Corporation and company Azercell, startup tours were organized at Baku State University, Azerbaijan Technical University, Baku Engineering University, and Azerbaijan State University of Oil and Industry. The winners of these startup tours at each university were determined as well.
