Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Ramin Guluzade congratulated the SARF personnel on this occasion.
The SARF began its work in 1968 in the form of a group within the Technical Radio Monitoring Station. Then the Station was renamed as the Center for Electromagnetic Compatibility of Radio Electronic Equipment. Its current name - the State Administration of Radio Frequencies - this organization received in 1998.
In order to increase the efficiency of using radio-electronic and high-frequency equipment in the country, as well as to coordinate the activities of different departments and organizations in this area, the State Radiofrequencies Commission was established under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 1996, which still operates to this date.
Presently, the State Administration of Radio Frequencies keeps records of the radio frequency spectrum for civilian purposes and conducts registration of radio-electronic devices operating at these frequencies in the territory of the republic.
The SARF conducts radio monitoring and control over the air to ensure the normal functioning of radio communications equipment through ensuring electromagnetic compatibility and eliminating interferences.
The SARF checks the compliance of the monitored frequencies and the registration base of permitted radio-electronic devices, analyzes TV and FM channels broadcast in the republic, and measures and checks the broadcasting zones.
