At the meeting, the issues of improving the material and technical bases in the field of nuclear sciences and strengthening of highly qualified human resources in our republic were discussed.
Ramin Guluzade noted that the National Nuclear Research Center has been operating in Azerbaijan since 2014. The activity areas of the Center are the use of nuclear technologies for peaceful purposes in accordance with the requirements of the time and national interests, as well as the enhancement of highly qualified human resources in the field of nuclear technology and expansion of research work.
According to the Minister, today special attention is paid to the formation of highly qualified human resources in Azerbaijan and the expansion of research in this field. Country’s leading universities has already begun the process of personnel training in the relevant field.
Ramin Guluzade also reminded that the Republic of Azerbaijan is represented in the CIS Interstate Commission on the Use of Atomic Energy for Peaceful Purposes.
The Minister also stressed that today Azerbaijani specialists participate in global scientific and technical programs for the exchange of experience and joint researches carried out by the International Atomic Energy Agency, the European Organization for Nuclear Research and other international scientific centers.
The meeting also exchanged views on studying the experience of developed nuclear countries, expanding cooperation and other issues of mutual interest.
It should be noted that Rosatom is the largest entity in the Russian Federation in atomic energy, construction of nuclear power plants, designing, production of various innovative nuclear products, supercomputers, as well as scientific research in the field of software. According to the results of 2017, the corporation was ranked 2nd in the world in terms of uranium reserves and 4th in terms of its production and provides 17% of the nuclear fuel market.
Minister meets with leadership of Rosatom
The delegation, led by Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Ramin Guluzade, is on an official visit to the Russian Federation.
