It should be noted that the number of certificates issued in 2017 was 26 568 (9 754 for government agencies, 9 518 for legal entities and 7 296 for individuals).
A total of 166 890 e-signature certificates have been issued during the period starting from the launch of electronic signature certificates in the country until January 1, 2019. 91 206 of them were issued to government agencies, 41 612 – to legal entities and 34 072 – to individuals.
The number of e-signature certificates issued in the past month was 3 146. In December 2018, 1 834 certificates were issued to government agencies, 828 – to legal entities and 484 – to individuals.
At the same time, the number of transactions made with the use of e-signature has also increased. Thus, to date, a total of 45 323 382 authentication and electronic signature-related operations have been carried out in the country. 35 332 921 of them were carried out by government agencies and 9 990 461 – by legal entities and individuals.
According to statistical data, 15 451 832 authentication and electronic signature-related operations were carried out in the country during 2018, which makes about 34% of the total number of operations made. 12 127 063 of them were carried out by government agencies and 3 324 769 – by legal entities and individuals.
Note that electronic signature is one of the means of identifying a user in the virtual environment. According to the laws of the Republic of Azerbaijan, electronic documents signed with an electronic signature are as legally valid as paper-based documents certified by handwritten signature and seal.
39 748 e-signature certificates issued in 2018
Along with the growing number of electronic signature certificates in Azerbaijan, the scale of their use has also increased.
