The competition was launched today at the High Tech Park.
It was noted that the purpose of the competition is to provide solutions on a unique monitoring systems (scripts for IDS, module or software solution) for detection of interventions to information systems.
Speaking at the event, chief of the Electronic Security Service under the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Faig Farmanov said the goal of the regularly held Hackathon competition is to create conditions for attracting potential talented young people into a single space, develop knowledge and skills in information technologies, solve relevant tasks in a team form and create opportunity for interesting and innovative projects.
Head of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Regional Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia Kirill Oparin said that today the International Telecommunication Union attaches great importance to holding Hackathon competitions. "Azerbaijan already has some experience in this area. This time the competition dedicated to cyber security solutions is very important for the globalizing world. Technology has penetrated into the life of each of us, which has a fairly positive trend, but at the same time encourages each of us to be vigilant against cyber threats. In this regard, we consider it commendable to hold such an international week in Azerbaijan," – he added.
The competition, which will last 24 hours, involves more than 20 specialists and 6 teams.
Participants must have basic knowledge of cybersecurity, sufficient knowledge and experience in at least one programming language (Python, C #, Java or Bash Scripting, etc.), as well as server operating systems (Windows Server family and Linux Servers), ability to work in a group environment and hold a presentation.
The jury will evaluate the participants according to such criteria as "Uniqueness", "Innovativeness", "Efficiency" and "Presentation".
The winners of the first, second and third places will receive 4,000 AZN, 2,000 AZN, 1,000 AZN, respectively.

The Hackathon competition will be organized within the framework of Cyber Security Week by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, Electronic Security Service, Data Processing Center and High-Tech Park in partnership with the State Administration of Radio Frequencies on March 11-12.The competition was launched today at the High Tech Park.
