OPPO A9 with Helio P70 SoC, 6GB RAM, 4020mAh Battery Launched in China
Oppo has launched the A9 smartphone in China. It comes as the successor to the Oppo A7 that was launched last year. The Oppo A9 comes in a single variant – 6GB RAM 128GB storage. And it costs CNY 1,799. The device is currently available on pre-orders, and it will go on sale in China starting 30th April. The brand hasn’t announced the availability of the device for markets outside China.
The Oppo A9 brings with it a 6.53-inch IPS LCD, which has a Full HD resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Being a 2019 device, the display has minimal bezels, and a V-shaped notch at the top. According to Oppo, the A9 has a 90% screen to body ratio.
Powering the device is the MediaTek Helio P70 SoC. This chipset has octa-core CPU (4x Cortex-A73 clocked at 2.0GHz, and 4x Cortex -A53 clocked at 2.0GHz), and Mali-G72 MP3 GPU. As I said earlier, the A9 comes in one variant, and it has 6GB RAM 128GB storage. The smartphone, as you might expect, runs on Android 9 Pie operating system, which has Color OS 6.0 customization. Oppo has packed the device GameBoost 2.0, which according to the band, can offer higher frame rates in games.
The rear camera setup has one 16MP primary camera and a 2MP depth-sensor, whereas, the front-facing camera is a 16MP unit. According to the brand, the rear-camera setup, as well as, the front-facing camera is assisted by AI to offer superior quality images.
The Oppo A9 packs a 4020mAh battery. Unfortunately, it comes with the outdated, microUSB port, instead of the more convenient USB Type-C port. Speaking of connectivity, the device has a dual-SIM option with dual-VoLTE, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The Oppo A9 weighs 190 grams, and it measures 162×76.1×8.3mm.
