Chinese manufacturing giant, Xiaomi, has released a new smart trash can and it will be sold for only 129 yuan ($19). This is a third-party product which was released in collaboration with Ninestars. The Xiaomi Ninestars smart trash can features an intelligent induction one-button control mechanism which gives it a silent opening and closing capacity.
The trash can has a capacity of 10L and it is built with ABS material. It uses an anti-odor sealing structure and a barrel D design which ensures that it can seamlessly fit with a wall surface. To give this trash can a premium performance, the company used a new silent motor with an intelligent chip to control the rise and fall of the cover. Through the near-field infrared induction opening and closing mechanism, the handle does not leave the cover, and the cover can remain closed for a long time. During use, the handle is prevented from contacting the lid and the risk of bacterial cross-infection is reduced.
The sensing distance is between 6cm – 30cm) and it is powered by two carbon or alkaline batteries. The carbon batteries last for 6 months while the alkaline batteries last for 17 months for alkaline batteries. It should be noted that although the Ninestars smart trash can uses a fixed pressure ring to hide the garbage bag, it does not support automatic packaging and bag changing.
