The Summit was attended by ministers in charge of transport of the ITF member states, business representatives, heads of international organizations and leading researchers.
Azerbaijan at the Summit was represented by a delegation led by Deputy Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Elmir Velizade.
At the event, discussions were held on transport security, environmentally friendly transport, transition to “smart” transport systems in cities and regions, transport and climate change, elimination of barriers to efficient transportation by road, dependence of transport on digital equipment and other topics. There were also presentations made by participants.
Elmir Velizade also attended the informal meeting of transport ministers of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) member states held as part of the annual summit of the International Transport Forum in connection with the chairmanship of the Republic of Bulgaria in the BSEC.
The meeting focused on the issues of developing cooperation in the field of transport between the member states, the study of mutual experience in the field of transport and infrastructure coordination, intergovernmental dialogue and the creation of a new platform for the expansion of relations in transport.
The event participants were informed about the projects implemented in Azerbaijan, the work done, as well as the introduction of information and communication technologies and innovative systems in the fields of transport and logistics.

The Annual Summit of the International Transport Forum (ITF) entitled “Transport Connectivity for Regional Integration” was held in Leipzig, Germany.The Summit was attended by ministers in charge of transport of the ITF member states, business representatives, heads of international organizations and leading researchers.
