InnoFest Village continued with interesting events
InnoFest Village, organized as part of the Innovation Festival at Heydar Aliyev Center, continued with interesting events.
In particular, the project “From Idea to Business - I2B Junior” was presented. The project also covered a preliminary demonstration of the Idea Generator platform, which was held with the organizational support of STUAGE. The festival participants were offered trainings consisting of several stages in order to implement their innovative ideas.
The project is planned to be held regularly in regions in the future. The final stage will take place in the second half of the year.
The results of the three-day startup competition held among Baku universities within the project “From Idea to Business” were also announced. Projects NanoDesal, AntiAge Juice, HealWith, Boomerang, AgroShare, Plan to Plant, Game of War and Modern Technologies, Palliative care, and Chameleon competed for the championship in the Baku Finals, which was held at Heydar Aliyev Center.
The jury of experts evaluated the projects of the finalists according to criteria such as uniqueness of idea, market potential, the period of return on investment, the time required to develop a preliminary service / prototype, the ability of the team to implement the idea.
The first place was taken by NanoDesal project, the second - by HealWith, the third - by AgroShare.
The winning teams together with the winners from 12 regions became eligible to participate in the summer camp Innocamp that will be held in late August. This year’s winners of the project “From Idea to Business” in the summer camp will participate in the preparatory trainings for the finals with the support of mentors, representatives of business incubation centers, as well as psychologists.
Winners of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places will be determined in the National Finals to be held in October. The winners of the first three places in the National Finals will be provided with financial support by the organizers and partners to turn their ideas into business.
In addition, Azerbaijani Final of the International Drone Olympics (DronTech) was organized today by Azerbaijan Robotics and Engineering Academy (AREA) in partnership with the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies and Robopark with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
25 students (between 7 and 12 years old) from public and private secondary schools of Baku and Sumgayit city competed to become most successful pilot. The competition was held in three categories: Drone Race, Drone Football and Drone Challenge. The winners of the first three places in each category were awarded certificates and valuable gifts.
Thus, the first place in the category Drone Race was taken by Eldar Mustafayev, the second place – Emil Abbasov, the third place – Omar Hajihasanli.
In the category Drone Football, the first three places were taken by Saleh Guluzade and Polad Ismaılly, Eldar Mustafayev, respectively.
And in the category of Drone Challenge, the first place went to Eldar Mustafayev. Omar Hajihasanli and Ali Mamadguliyev took the 2nd and 3rd places, respectively.
The winners were awarded the first drone pilot certificates in Azerbaijan.
The exhibition TechFest was one of the events organized within InnoFest Village.
TechFest was held in Baku for the first time with the support of the US Embassy to Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies and Mars Academy. TechFest Bakı offered local manufacturers ample opportunities to showcase their products, participate in master classes and present their projects to the international jury. Local makers demonstrated their products at the stand of the Innovation Agency.
US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Lee Litzenberger, who visited the InnoFest Village, attended the exhibition TechFest. He awarded the most successful projects: Additional Electric Supply for Electric Cars, Invisible Energy, and Click Energy.
