About 66% of users of Duo Security programs run this software on Windows 10. The share of Windows 7 was 29%.
The free support of Windows 7 ends in January 14, 2020, and Microsoft continues to remind users to switch to a newer Windows 10, which has been installed on more than 900 million devices.
However, Microsoft will offer extended support for Windows 7 - ESU (Extended Security Updates, advanced security updates). It will be paid and expensive for companies with a large fleet of computer equipment.
According to the NetMarketShare service (it studies the activity of more than 160 million unique users browsing over 40,000 sites worldwide), in June 2019, Windows 10 was installed on 45.79% of personal computers in the world against 45.73% a month earlier. The share of Windows 7 for the month decreased from 35.44% to 35.38%, Dailycomm.ru reports.
