Samsung stops new updates for galaxy S7 & S7 Edge

Almost four years ago Samsung had introduced its premium smartphones – Galaxy S7 & S7 Edge. Both the devices were running the Android 6.0 version at that time. Over the years, both the models got two prominent Android updates. The Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge had received the Android 8.0 Update in 2018. After that, Samsung has continued to roll out the security patches until the news has come. It is now official that Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge will not receive any Android update or support anymore.
 
Recently, the company has eliminated the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge from the smartphones catalog which phones are in the span of receiving quarterly security patches or Android support. Regarding the news, we have already forecasted that March 2020 security patch could be the last software update received from the respective company. Earlier we had given you all the information regarding March 2020 security patch update for both the devices.
 
Samsung is known for its priceworthy services for flagship phones. The company already fulfil the commitment of four years of software updates for their flagship devices. The Korean company’s flagship phones will get Android version updates for two years. Whereas, Galaxy devices proceed with getting a security patch update for four years from the launch date of the device.
 
Samsung said that it might possible that the company still releases security patches to both the devices. It will happen only when critical security susceptibility happens. This is a very commendable gesture of Samsung. In this case, The Galaxy S7 Active is still in that list of devices will get quarterly security patch updates ahead but the next security patch could be the last update ever receives.
