Japan to create a space waste cleanup satellite

Air Space Agency (JAXA) started developing a satellite that will clean the so-called space waste, writes NHK Japanese media.

According to the Agency, the SKY Perfect JSAT and RIEKN Institute of Physics Research are working on the creation of the satellite.

The satellite is designed to dissolve the waste using a laser beam and will push it to the atmosphere.

It is over 20 thousand waste objects remaining in the space, the size of which is more than 10 centimeters. There are 750,000 small objects floating around Earth.

Scientists say that the satellite will be ready to be tested in three years.
