During the COVID-19 pandemic, demand for electronic signatures issued by the Data Processing Center of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies increased.
During January-June of this year, 1244 electronic signature certificates were issued to citizens, 2144 – to entrepreneurs and 1666 – to legal entities. The number of issued certificates increased by 20 percent compared with the same period in 2019.
3375 e-signature certificates were issued to government agencies that applied for an electronic signature.
A total of 8429 certificates were issued in the first half of the year.
During that period, the number of transactions conducted by electronic signature exceeded 6 million (6,102,250).
It should be noted that government agencies, entrepreneurs, legal entities and individuals wishing to obtain e-signature can make an order online by visiting the website e-imza.az.
It is to be recalled that an electronic signature is a means of identification and signature that works in accordance with electronic logic, which can be used in the form of a smart card and a USB token created in a digital environment. This signature, which cannot be falsified, is valid for 3 years and cannot be changed.
