Postage stamp issued on occasion of 145th anniversary of our national press

On June 30, 2020, President Ilham Aliyev signed a relevant order “On holding of the 145th anniversary of the national press of Azerbaijan”.
 
According to the Action Plan approved by the Presidential Administration in order to ensure the execution of the Order, as of today, Azermarka LLC under the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies is starting to put into circulation a postage stamp on the occasion of the 145th anniversary of our national press.
 
The postage stamp symbolically depicts a farmer scattering seeds on the arable land. A part of the quote belonging to the great educator, publicist Hasan bey Zardabi is placed on the “plowed field”.
 
The main idea of the postage stamp is to show that the seeds of development of our national press were sown 145 years ago by Hasan bey Zardabi, to keep this history alive and pass it on to future generations by drawing attention to the founder of the Azerbaijani press.
 
The stamp, created by chief artist of Azermarka Vugar Ayyubov, was printed in the “Bobruisk Integrated Printing House” in Belarus with a print run of 5,000 copies. Additionally, 200 envelopes of the first day were issued.
