Xiaomi has been introducing wireless charging for more than two and a half years. So, in March 2018, the Xiaomi Mix 2S device with 7.5-watt wireless charging was presented, and in October of the same year, the Xiaomi Mix 3 device with a 10-watt system.
In September 2019, the Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro smartphone was released with a 30-watt wireless charging, and in March of this year, Xiaomi talked about a 40-watt charging. In August 2020, the company showed off the Mi 10 Extreme Commemorative Edition, which supports 50W wireless charging.
New wireless technology delivers up to 80 watts of power – the highest available today. The operation of the system is shown on the example of a modified Mi 10 Pro smartphone.
The 4000 mAh battery can be half charged wirelessly in just 8 minutes. It will take 19 minutes to fully replenish the energy reserve of such a battery – from 0% to 100%.
Xiaomi does not go into technical details regarding the 80-watt system. The timing of the commercial availability of the technology is also not reported.
