Welcoming the participants, Selcuk Bayraktar, technical director of the Turkish company Baykar Makina and creator of the Bayraktar TB2 unmanned aerial vehicle expressed gratitude to Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Ramin Guluzade for the invitation.
Selcuk Bayraktar congratulated Azerbaijan on the end of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the victory gained in the Great Patriotic War and asked God Almighty to bless all our martyrs.
“We have been felt the Karabakh issue as a pain in our soul since our young years. Today, as a result of huge efforts of the Azerbaijani and Turkish armies, this pain is gone. We feel pride that national technology produced by our country has played a role in the victory. The real owners of this victory are martyrs. Long live our armies! Long live the brotherhood of Azerbaijan and Turkey!”, Said Bayraktar.
He gave detailed information on the activities and development strategies of the drone industry. He spoke about the important role of drones in the national military-industrial movement. According to Bayraktar, Turkey is currently one of six countries producing drones.
In his speech, Bayraktar spoke about the Bayraktar TB2 unmanned aerial vehicles used in the Great Patriotic War. He said that these devices are exported to four countries, including Azerbaijan. 93% of the parts of Bayraktar TB2 that use artificial intelligence are local production.
He also noted that during a pandemic they began to produce artificial respirators, and spoke about the design of these devices.
Selcuk Bayraktar said that they have created an incubation center Türkiye Teknoloji Takımı (Turkish Technology Team): “Our center operates in the field of artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, modern technologies. Our main goal is to give young people the opportunity to acquire new knowledge and skills, and achieve success in innovations in this field.”
Bayraktar added that Azerbaijani youth will also undergo training at Baykar Makina.
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Elmir Velizade said that holding online meetings during a pandemic is of great importance.
