The US Federal Court has temporarily lifted the ban on cooperation with the Chinese company Xiaomi, which was previously blacklisted by Washington. This was reported by Reuters.
Judge Rudolph Contreras found the allegations that the country’s national security was threatened because of the Chinese campaign unproven. The US Department of Defense has not yet commented on this.
In Xiaomi the decision of the American court was welcomed. They added that the company plans to achieve a complete lifting of the ban on cooperation.
Earlier, Xiaomi sued the United States, seeking exclusion from the blacklist. Joining it does not allow American investors to buy shares of the company. In addition to Xiaomi, eight other Chinese companies were blacklisted.
The Chinese manufacturer claims that the actions of the US authorities are unconstitutional, and denies involvement in the Chinese government or armed forces, as well as any organization related to the Chinese defense industry.
