Mozilla Firefox browser now has a built-in translator

It became known that the Mozilla Firefox browser has a built-in translator. This means that users of the browser will no longer need to use third-party tools to translate texts. At the moment, this feature is present only in the test builds of the browser.

Mozilla Firefox continues to be the only alternative to numerous browsers based on Chromium. That’s why the appearance of new features in it is especially important for the user community. This time, the developers have added a useful tool that makes the translation of texts viewed by users on the Internet easier.

We are talking about an add-on called Firefox Translations, which is integrated directly in the browser and is already available in the latest versions of Firefox Nightly.

Mozilla Translator is a kind of analog of Google Translate, but it has one crucial difference. The new add-on Firefox is focused on privacy, text translation is done locally and its content is not transmitted to the cloud.

The source notes that even in test versions of Firefox the translator is not activated by default.

The developers probably want to make sure that the feature is fully functional before a large number of browser users interact with it. To activate the translator yourself, you need to open the list of experimental features, find the extensions.translations.disabled option, activate it and restart the browser.

Although the translation feature looks quite workable in the test version of Firefox, no word yet on when it will appear in stable versions of the browser.
