At present, the possibility of using SIM cards with special cryptographic capabilities is being considered for use in the e-digital signature for GSM networks.
The matter rests with the organisation which will install the application in SIM cards, which is whether it will be installed by the certification centre, or by the operator.

The mobile platform of e-digital signature issuance will be put into operation in January 2013, the Information Computer Centre of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan reported.
