The centre has already begun to issue mobile authentication certificates for mobile devices and table computers. The acceptance of applications for certificates has started in Azerbaijan. Under a pilot project, citizens might apply to the central registration office for obtaining certificates. At present, technical and organizational work is being carried out in other registration offices. Upon completion of the work, citizens will be able to acquire certificates in these offices as well.
According to information released by the “e-Government” centre, work is now underway to make it possible for citizens to electronically apply for mobile IDs. After the completion of the work, the citizens owning “e-signature” certificates will be able to obtain a mobile authentication certificate without having to go to registration centers. Depending on technical capabilities of mobile devices, an authentication certificate can be downloaded to mobile devises operating on the following platforms:
• “Apple IOS 5.0” or higher versions (iPhone 3GS, 4, 4S, 5 / iPad 1, 2, 3, 4, mini / iPod Touch 3, 4, 5);
• “Android 4.0” or higher versions (HTC, Samsung, LG, Acer, Sony);
• “Symbian S60 OS” or higher versions;
• “Windows Phone 7.0” and 7.5 platforms (Windows Phone 8.0 has not been fully tested);
• “BlackBerry 6.0 OS” or higher versions (“SSL client” identification configuration for mobile color certificates can be downloaded with the use of “BlackBerry Desktop Manager” program);
After downloading an authentication certificate into his/her mobile device the citizen might easily access the “e-Government” portal (www.e-gov.az) or other websites rendering electronic services. It should be noted that according to the Law on Electronic Signature the Mobile Authentication Certificate Centre obtained a certificate from the Main Certificate Centre.
