The Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan has prepared an action plan for the implementation of the "Development of information and communication technologies and transition to the information society" section of the "Azerbaijan 2020: Look into the Future" Development Concept approved by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan’s order No. 29 dated December 29, 2012.
It should be noted that development of information and communication technologies and the transition to the information society are the main directions of the concept.
Insuring transition to the information society, building the information-oriented and knowledge-based economy, implementation of ICT in state local government institutions, expanding the application of electronic services, strengthening information security, fulfilling the public’s need for information products and services, strengthening the export-oriented ICT potential and preparing high-skilled ICT specialists are among priority tasks outlined in the "Azerbaijan 2020: Look into the Future" Development Concept.
